Elvis in Hawaii FAQ
Why did you choose The Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort for this event?
This experience is all about authenticity. We want to celebrate Elvis’ love of Hawaii by together visiting the same places he visited and experiencing his Hawaii. Often, when Elvis visited Hawaii, he stayed at what was then called The Hawaiian Village Hotel on the 14th floor of the Ocean Tower in the Mahele Suite. That tower is no longer there but, at the time, it was the tallest building in Hawaii. Just above that floor, Tom Moffat broadcasted his show each day, introducing the islands to rock ‘n’ roll! The Hilton Hawaiian Village is also the site of many of the location shots for Elvis’ movies. It’s the location where his character in “Blue Hawaii,” Chad Gates, picked up his clients for tours and where he spent time with his girlfriend, Maile Duval. Remember the scene in “Aloha from Hawaii” with the tower that features rainbows painted up the side? That’s the Hilton Hawaiian Village and you can still see the same rainbows today.
