Tupelo Fan Appreciation Day

Elvis Presley Birthplace, Tupelo, Mississippi. Fans can enjoy a day filled with live Elvis entertainment, Elvis stories, tours and more at Elvis Presley's Birthplace. Fans will arrive with music on the grounds accompanied by a special ceremony in the Birthplace Amphitheater. Fans can explore the humble beginnings of the king and enjoy story tellers in the chapel, plus lunch inside the Birthplace Event Center. Entertainment inside the Birthplace Theater includes Kay Bain and The Morning Show Band, the Tupelo Unity Choir, and Elvis tribute artist Cliff Wright. All events in the Theater are free to the public to attend. Wrap up the day with the Outside Amphitheater Concert featuring Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Ben Portsmouth at 7:00 p.m. Tickets for this concert will be $35 and can be purchased by calling 662-841-1245. Transportation for Tupelo Fan Appreciation Day by Memphis Best Tours

Hound Dog Tour: A Musical City Tour Celebrating Elvis by Backbeat Tours

George Klein’s Elvis Mafia Reunion

Salute to Memphis Music Featuring Memphis Jones and Brad Birkedahl

7:00 p.m. Elvis Week Main Stage, Graceland. Help kick-off the Elvis Week Main Stage events at Graceland with an amazing night of Memphis music. Hear Memphis music performed by great Memphis talent with performances by the Memphis Jones Band plus Brad Birkedahl and The Burnin’ Love Band. The show will not only feature Elvis songs, but the sound and soul of other great Memphis musicians. Individual tickets are $20. TUESDAY, AUGUST 13

Humes Marker Dedication 

10:00 a.m. Humes Middle School (formerly Humes High School), 659 N Manassas Street. Join Elvis' high school classmates as they have a plaque dedicated in the king's honor at the site of Elvis former high school in Memphis. The dedication ceremony will take place inside the school at the auditorium, stairs will be the only access. Elvis friend George Klein will be in attendance, along with a performance by singer Ronnie McDowell. Humes High School is currently on the National Register of Historic Places. Seating inside the auditorium will begin at 9:30 a.m.

Elvis Presley Memorial Trauma Center Elvis Week Fan Reception

10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. Elvis Presley Memorial Trauma Center, 877 Jefferson Avenue. The Annual Elvis Presley Fans Reception at the Elvis Presley Memorial Trauma Center in Memphis will feature Carol and James Light, founders of the “Memories of Elvis” souvenir shop. Light refreshments will be served and tours of the trauma center will be conducted. Included in the tour is a  stop by the Elvis Presley Memorial Trauma Center donor wall, where hundreds of plaques recognize donors who have supported the trauma center named in honor of the King of Rock ‘n Roll. Enter the Regional Medical Center at the main entrance. Greeters will then direct you to the reception.

Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest Showcase

1:00 p.m. Elvis Week Main Stage, Graceland. See some of the semifinalists for the 2013 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest showcase their talents as they prepare for the ultimate contest. Elvis tribute artists who will perform during this event to be announced at a later time, but all will be 2013 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest Semifinalists. This event will be hosted by Ultimate Contest host Joey Sulipeck. Individual tickets are $20. Tickets will be available for purchase at Graceland Guest Services beginning Saturday, August 10, or at the door of the event, pending availability.

Elvis at Stax Listening Party

4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Stax Museum of American Soul Music, 926 E. McLemore Ave. In conjunction with the much-anticipated August 6th release of “Elvis At Stax,” the 3-CD box set chronicling the music Elvis recorded at Stax Studios in July and December 1973, RCA/Legacy Recordings is hosting a very special listening party at the Stax Museum of American Soul Music. Fans will have an opportunity to stand in the very same spot where Elvis recorded the music they are hearing, in addition to witnessing stories and details behind the music and recording sessions from representatives of Sony and special guest Norbert Putnam, who recorded with Elvis at Stax in December 1973.  Admission to this event is free.

“Viva Las Vegas" Movie and Dance Party

7:00 - 11:00 p.m. Elvis Week Main Stage, Graceland. Bring your dancing shoes for a night filled with Las Vegas fun and excitement. Kick-off the evening with a screening of the Elvis fan favorite “Viva Las Vegas” - sponsored by Warner Bros. - which is sure to have everyone on their feet singing along and dancing in the aisles. Then, after the movie is over, continue to dance the night away with DJ Argo as he plays some of your favorite Elvis music. Ticket price includes both movie screening and dance party that follows. 1:00 p.m. Elvis Week Main Stage, Graceland. Hosted by Tom Brown, Vice President of Original Productions for Turner Classic Movies (TCM), this event lets fans hear from those who worked closest with the king – from friends, colleagues, co-stars, musicians and more. Guests include: Mother Dolores Hart, who starred alongside Elvis in "Loving You" and "King Creole" and left Hollywood to enter a contemplative monastery; T.G. Sheppard, who formed a close personal and professional relationship with Elvis while promoting records for RCA - Elvis would later, as a token of their friendship, give T.G. his first tour bus; and representatives from Sony who will be talking about the new “Elvis at Stax” release and joined by bassist Norbert Putnam, who was part of the studio band for Elvis’ December 1973 recording session at Stax. An autograph session with special guests Mother Dolores Hart, T.G. Sheppard and Norbert Putnam will follow this event at the Elvis Week Main Stage. SOLD OUT.

Graceland Trivia Tour

5:00 p.m. Event starts at Graceland Ticket Office. Guests are invited to tour Graceland Mansion and the Elvis Presley Automobile Museum while simultaneously answering trivia questions to which answers can be found on the Graceland tour. Adult and junior version of the trivia tour will be available. Prizes will be awarded for both adult and junior versions. Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest Semifinal Round

7:00 p.m. Cannon Center for the Performing Arts, 255 N. Main. See 28 of the best tribute artists in the world compete in the Semifinal Round of the 2013 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest. Enjoy hours of Elvis music and entertainment as these winners compete for their chance to advance to the Final Round on Saturday, August 17. The top 10 Elvis tribute artists moving on to the Final Round of the competition will be announced at the end of the Semifinal Round. Sumner and the Stamps Quartet – Bill Baize, Donnie Sumner, Ed Hill and Larry Strickland as they sing some of their favorite Elvis gospel songs on stage. Individual tickets are $30. Elvis Presley Fan Club Presidents’ Event

1:00 p.m. Elvis Week Main Stage, Graceland. Elvis fans are invited to celebrate the work of Elvis Presley fan clubs during this special event. In addition to celebrating and recognizing the work of fan clubs, the event will feature a program of EPE company updates and special announcements, including the latest from EPE media, marketing, licensing, merchandise, archives and more. The special guest speaker for the event will be Sally Wilbourn, who started as a receptionist for Sam Phillips at Sun in 1955. Sally will share some of her favorite stories and memories of working at Sun in the early days and will be available for autographs following the event.  Entertainer Andy Childs will be our special guest host for this segment. For the August event, the special spotlight charity will be the March of Dimes, which celebrates its 75th anniversary this year. The March of Dimes was an organization that Elvis supported. All attendees are asked to make at least a $5.00 donation which will be collected at the door of the event. Fan club presidents will get an invite and registration form directly from EPE to attend the event for free. Individual tickets are $15. Memorial Mass for the Repose of the Soul of Elvis Presley

Candlelight Vigil

8:30 p.m. Gates of Graceland. After an opening ceremony at the gates of Graceland, fans are invited to walk up the driveway to Elvis' gravesite and back down carrying a candle in quiet remembrance. Free admission. No tickets or reservations. Gates remain open until all who wish to participate in the procession have done so, which typically takes until the early morning hours of August 16, the anniversary date of Elvis' passing. Free secured parking at the Graceland visitor center complex after 6:00 p.m.

George Klein's Elvis Memorial Service

Aloha from Hawaii VIP Reception

“Aloha from Hawaii” 40th Anniversary Enhanced Screening

7:30 p.m. Orpheum Theatre, 203 S. Main. Celebrate entertainment history at the Orpheum on August 16 with a special enhanced screening of Elvis’ landmark 1973 television event. Elvis’ “Aloha from Hawaii” aired in over 40 countries across Asia and Europe and was seen by more than one billion people across the globe. It is regarded as the most watched broadcast by an individual entertainer in television history. During this special screening, experience “Aloha from Hawaii” as you never have before. The re-mastered video is featured in high-definition and edited to create a special experience for you, the audience. Included will be rarely-seen footage and audio that, when combined with the stage footage, will remind even the biggest Elvis fan why they call him the king! They will be playing your favorite Elvis music as you dance late into the evening. Individual tickets are $30. Elvis Presley 5K Run Benefiting Livitup, Inc. 

8:00 a.m. The Elvis Presley 5K Run starts and finishes at the Gates of Graceland. After the race, join Livitup, Inc. across from the mansion at Elvis Presley Park on Craft Road for a party under the tent.  There will be food, music and fun! Official Elvis Insiders Event

10:00 a.m. Elvis Week Main Stage, Graceland. This year’s Elvis Insiders event will be a celebration of all that is Elvis with special segments that highlight various parts of Elvis’ life and career. Attendees will enjoy sneak peeks, behind-the-scenes looks, rarely-seen videos, feature segments filmed just for the event, special guests and much more. It will be a special “inside” look at both Elvis and his home, Graceland. Special guests appearances to include former members of J.D. Sumner and the Stamps Quartet – Bill Baize and Donnie Sumner, who will talk about Elvis’ “Aloha from Hawaii” concert; and DJ Fontana, who will share memories/stories about the filming of the ’68 Special which celebrates its 45th anniversary this year, and Mylon Le Fevre, Grammy award winning gospel singer who met Elvis at a Memphis gospel convention and wrote "Without Him." Bill Baize, Donnie Sumner, Ed Hill, Larry Strickland and Mylon Le Fevre will be signing autographs following this event. Individual tickets are $25. The show will feature Terry Mike Jeffrey and band performing some of their favorite Elvis tunes, joined by Elvis’ original drummer DJ Fontana and background vocalist Millie Kirkham. Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest Final Round

The excitement will build throughout the night as the group is narrowed down from ten to five before the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist of 2013 is named. Free Entertainment Tent at Graceland Crossing

August 9: 5:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. August 10 - 14, 16, 17: 12:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. August 15: 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Continuous presentation of Elvis music performed live by various singers and bands, plus other activities. A schedule for the Elvis Week entertainment tent will be available at the Elvis Week information table upon arrival in Memphis.

Morning and Evening Walk Ups to Meditation Garden

Daily throughout the year, there is a special period of time for free admission walk up visits to the Meditation Garden at Graceland. Elvis Week morning walk ups will be from 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. on August 10-18. Morning walk-ups may not be available on August 16 due to the Candlelight Vigil. Elvis Week evening walk ups will be from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on August 10-14 and August 16-17. Evening walk-ups will not be available the night of August 15 due to the Candlelight Vigil.

Children's Activities at Ticket Pavilion

August 10 - August 17. 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Graceland Ticket Pavilion. Children can enjoy arts and crafts each day while learning about the King of Rock 'n' Roll.

Graceland Stable Tours

August 15 - August 17. Daily tour times: 11:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Tour the stables at Graceland! Artifacts on display as part of the Elvis Presley Stable Tour include saddles used by Elvis and his entourage, personal western wear worn by Elvis, checks and documents related to the purchase of some of Elvis’ horses, and home movie footage of Elvis on horseback at Graceland. Cost is $15. Dates/times are subject to weather conditions, safety issues and availability. Tickets may be purchased at the Graceland Ticket Pavilion on day of the tour.
