Salute to Elvis
Morrisville, North Carolina
Details: Join the Elvis at Champions Fan Club for their upcoming charity Elvis night on Saturday August 17 at 7:00 p.m. Named "Salute to Elvis" this event will be held at the Champions Morrisville location at 10255 Chapel Hill Road, Morrisville, North Carolina. Admission is free and guests will be able to choose food from an "Elvis Menu." All proceeds from food sales benefit VLCNC-Cares of NC, which supports homeless veterans. Details: 10:00 a.m. Elvis Week Main Stage, Graceland. This year’s Elvis Insiders event will be a celebration of all that is Elvis with special segments that highlight various parts of Elvis’ life and career. Attendees will enjoy sneak peeks, behind-the-scenes looks, rarely-seen videos, feature segments filmed just for the event, special guests and much more. It will be a special “inside” look at both Elvis and his home, Graceland. Special guests appearances to include former members of J.D. Sumner and the Stamps Quartet – Bill Baize and Donnie Sumner, who will talk about Elvis’ “Aloha from Hawaii” concert; and DJ Fontana, who will share memories/stories about the filming of the ’68 Special which celebrates its 45th anniversary this year, and Mylon Le Fevre, Grammy award winning gospel singer who met Elvis at a Memphis gospel convention and wrote "Without Him." Bill Baize, Donnie Sumner, Ed Hill, Larry Strickland and Mylon Le Fevre will be signing autographs following this event. Individual tickets are $25. Elvis Celebration Concert featuring Terry Mike Jeffrey with Special Guest DJ Fontana and Millie Kirkham

Details: Join us for a celebration of Elvis music during a special afternoon concert event. The show will feature Terry Mike Jeffrey and band performing some of their favorite Elvis tunes, joined by Elvis’ original drummer DJ Fontana and background vocalist Millie Kirkham. Additional guest to be announced soon. A great way to end Elvis Week 2013. Autographs with performers to follow event. Individual tickets are $35.

Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest Final Round
7:00 p.m. Cannon Center for the Performing Arts, 255 N. Main.
Details: Enjoy a phenomenal show as the top 10 Elvis tribute artists from the August 14 Semifinal Round compete for the title. The excitement will build throughout the night as the group is narrowed down from ten to five before the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist of 2013 is named. The show will also feature a performance by 2012 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist winner Ben Portsmouth. Find out more about the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest. Two-day tickets are $139.00 and $69.00 (includes Semifinal and Final Round). Graceland Stable Tours

Daily tour times: 11:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Details: Tour the stables at Graceland! Artifacts on display as part of the Elvis Presley Stable Tour include saddles used by Elvis and his entourage, personal western wear worn by Elvis, checks and documents related to the purchase of some of Elvis’ horses, and home movie footage of Elvis on horseback at Graceland. Cost is $15. Dates/times are subject to weather conditions, safety issues and availability. Tickets may be purchased at the Graceland Ticket Pavilion on day of the tour.

Morning and Evening Walk Ups to Meditation Garden

7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. Meditation Garden at Graceland
Details: Daily throughout the year, there is a special period of time for free admission walk up visits to the Meditation Garden at Graceland. Elvis Week morning walk ups will be from 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. on August 10-18. Morning walk-ups may not be available on August 16 due to the Candlelight Vigil. Elvis Week evening walk ups will be from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on August 10-14 and August 16-17. Evening walk-ups will not be available the night of August 15 due to the Candlelight Vigil.

Free Entertainment Tent at Graceland Crossing

Details: Continuous presentation of Elvis music performed live by various singers and bands, plus other activities. A schedule for the Elvis Week entertainment tent will be available at the Elvis Week information table upon arrival in Memphis.

Smithsonian Traveling Exhibition “Elvis at 21”

Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, Fort Worth, Texas
Details: “Elvis at 21: Photographs by Alfred Wertheimer,” a new Smithsonian traveling exhibition, presents 56 striking images and will open at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History on Saturday, May 25, 2013. Developed collaboratively by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service, the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery and the Govinda Gallery, “Elvis at 21” will be on view at Fort Worth Museum of Science and History through September 2, 2013. Alfred Wertheimer will be available for interviews at the museum (upon request) on Thursday, May 23 - Friday, May 24.

To compliment the new exhibition, Graceland Archives will also included rare artifacts related to Elvis in Texas. Those on display from the Graceland Archives include his Army fatigues hat worn in Fort Hood, TX and a Rolex given to him in 1970 while performing in Houston, TX. Learn More.
