Details: Hosted by Communities in Schools of the Great Smoky Mountains, the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad (GSMR) will be rocking and rolling down the tracks as we welcome a very special dinner train; A Tribute to Elvis Presley! Departing 7:30 p.m., Saturday, September 22, the King of Rock n Roll is in the building! Your fantastic meal for the evening will consist of three courses presented by our esteemed Chef Elton Foster. Starting with savory pumpkin bisque, a filling entrée of prime rib / roasted pork loin / portabella mushroom accompanied with fire roasted vegetables, garlic mashed potatoes and a warm yeast dinner roll! Details: Come relive the King’s innocent younger days and feel the energy of a young man who was only just beginning to realize his potential. Alfred Wertheimer’s gorgeous photo exhibit has been displayed in prestigious museums and galleries across the country, including the National Portrait Gallery in D.C. and the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. The exhibit is finally coming back to its rightful home here in Memphis just in time for Elvis Week 2012. The Pink Palace will be extending their hours until 9:00 p.m. on August 10 - 15 for the week-long celebration.

Details: Elvis is in the Building, a photography exhibition curated by Marina Pacini, Chief Curator and Curator of American, Modern, and Contemporary Art, will be on view at the Brooks from June 23 through October 31. Consisting of early, yet iconic photographs of Elvis Presley, the exhibition includes an Ernest Withers photograph of Elvis and B.B. King at the 1957 WDIA Goodwill Revue and a 1956 image of Elvis on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle by Alfred Wertheimer.
