Do Something Elvis
Brittany Russell has been an Elvis fan her entire life and recently wrote a song titled "Do Something Elvis" in honor of the king's generosity.

Being a singer/songwriter and lead singer of my band, I often get inspired to write from my experiences with my group.  I was inspired to write "Do Something Elvis" after my brother's band performed as the opening act for the country artist Luke Bryan. My brother, forgot his drumsticks (how does a drummer forget his drumsticks?) and the drummer for Luke Bryan, Kent Slucher, let my brother borrow his sticks. Kent stuck around while my brother’s band performed and later confirmed that he was really impressed. At the end of their set, my brother attempted to return the loaned sticks but Kent suggested he keep them. But that is not all Kent had in mind.

Kent led my brother to the stage before the show and Kent gave my brother his snare drum from his kit and suggested that his playing inspired him. It was a very generous gift and it reminded me of how Elvis was always giving gifts, such as jewelry, cars, guitars, and money - not only to his friends, but to people in need.  It wasn’t until after I toured Graceland that I was able to fully appreciate Elvis’ generosity.

It made me think that if you really want to know what it feels like to be a King, then Do Something Elvis.

Give something away. Change someone’s life by doing something unexpected.

Elvis changed music forever, but he changed people’s lives in the process and his spirit is still alive today, not just in Memphis but around the world.

That’s why I sing . . .

“He’s not coming back cause he never left”

What would happen if everyone would 'Do Something Elvis' today?

Verse I
Have you walked in Memphis, have you been to my town
where the music never stops you can always get down.

Where Beale Street's alive every day and night
and your heart beats faster and Mama it's alright

A wall full of records still shine in Gold, but you don't need Graceland to let something go
Sun's still here and you can hear for yourself that  He’s not  coming back cause he never left

If you really want to know how it feels to be King...

Chorus
You can Do something Elvis
do something Elvis
You can Do something Elvis
do something Elvis

Verse II
Trying to call home Baby can't you see
Hello Operator Give Me Memphis, Tennessee -
Music is still alive, you can come and see.
Well a bless my soul what's-a-wrong with me

There was Pink Cadillacs and new guitars - there were rings and watches and brand new cars
Riding down the road he would toss you the keys and never say no to someone in need
If you really want to know how it feels to be King...

Chorus
You can Do something Elvis
Do You can do something Elvis
You can Do something Elvis
Do something Elvis

A wall full of records still shine in Gold, but you don't need Graceland to let something go
Sun's still here and you can hear for yourself that
He’s not  coming back cause he never left

Chorus
Do something Elvis You can do something Elvis
Do something Elvis You can do something Elvis
