Rare Home Video Footage of Elvis Playing Football Posted for Insiders

August 04, 2010

Some rare home video footage of Elvis playing football is now available just for Elvis Insiders on the members-only website, ElvisInsiders.com. This extremely rare video clip from 1961 shows Elvis in action on the football field and features a clip of John "Bull" Bramlett talking about what it was like to play football with Elvis. To stay in shape and have fun, Elvis absolutely loved playing football with friends. Even as early as high school, Elvis would organize and play in pickup games at Guthrie Park in North Memphis and later on at Whitehaven High School, among other places.

The field shown in this particular video shows the game taking place on Graceland Recreational Field, which was located next to Graceland Elementary School, at the corner of Timothy Drive and Mickey Drive, several block southeast of Graceland.
