Home Improvement TV Show Tapes at Graceland

October 19, 2010

The PBS home improvement show "Ask This Old House" taped an episode at one of the most famous private residences this week: Elvis Presley's Graceland.

The filming took place on Monday, October 18 on the mansion's front lawn. It featured a hands-on demonstration by hosts Tom Silva and Kevin O'Connor on how to tackle ceramic tile projects with ease. About three dozen audience members were at the taping.

"Ask This Old House" is a spinoff of the popular "This Old House" PBS series that began in 1979. Now in its ninth season, "Ask This Old House" is adding an on-location audience segment to the program, with the inaugural episode being filmed in Memphis.

"This is a new segment for us, and we wanted the first one to be special" says producer Christopher Wolfe. "We couldn't think of a better place than Graceland to start."

The Memphis episode is expected to air in January.
