November 19, 2010
A Bentonville, Arkansas girl will soon be the envy of Elvis fans around the world.
Lindsey Crowder, an 11-year-old leukemia survivor, will join American Idol winner Lee DeWyze in "flipping the switch" at tonight's Graceland holiday lighting ceremony.
"I'm so excited,” Crowder tells KHOG-TV in Fayetteville, Arkansas. “It's like I’m going to light up Elvis’ house, that's so cool.”
Lindsey was diagnosed with leukemia when she was two years old. Her family says her cancer is currently in remission. Lindsey is an American Red Cross blood recepient. She hopes tonight's opportunity will inspire others to work with the Red Cross and help people like herself.
