Elvis Birthday Concert Tribute by Memphis Symphony Orchestra Returns!

The annual tribute by the Memphis Symphony Orchestra to honor the King of Rock 'n' Roll's birthday returns this year under the direction of Steven Reineke. This year’s event is titled Elvis’ Birthday — Greatest Hits Concert, and it will be held on Saturday, January 8 at 8 p.m. at the Cannon Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Memphis.

Terry Mike Jeffrey and his band are also going to be back for another hip-shakin’ night. The band and orchestra will perform the King’s chart-toppers. Jeffrey is a singer, Emmy-nominated songwriter, entertainer, multi-instrumentalist, musical director, arranger and actor. He was born in Paducah, Kentucky, and was singing on stage by the age of 3. Throughout childhood he'd mastered the guitar, piano, sax, and drums. Jeffrey has received critical praise from the New York Times, Variety, LA Times, and Music Row Magazine. He has had Network TV appearances on NBC's Today Show, CBS This Morning, CNN's Showbiz Today and Live with Regis and Kathie Lee.

Founded in 1952, the Memphis Symphony consists of more than 400 musicians, staff and volunteers who bring top-flight concerts and operate educational programs reaching thousands throughout the year. Steven Reineke is the Music Director for the New York Pops and has conducted a wide range of concerts. His work includes arranging for full orchestra the rock piece Tommy by The Who.
