1956 Publicity Photos Added to Elvis Mobile App

October 07, 2011

Fifty-five years ago, at the age of 21, Elvis’ career took off in what would be a whirlwind year for the young entertainer who had only begun breaking new ground with his unique performance and vocal style. Coined “The Year of Firsts” by both casual music listeners and Elvis fans alike, 1956 was when Elvis enjoyed his first RCA single and national hit, first album, first movie and first television appearances on multiple television shows. To celebrate, five publicity photos taken during that year have just been added to the Elvis Mobile 2.0 iPhone app and the Elvis Mobile 2.0 Android app.
