Kick Off the New Year with the 2012 Elvis Birthday Celebration

December 21, 2011

Join us in Memphis on January 5-8 for Elvis' Birthday Celebration, where we will kick-off this very special 35th anniversary year.

Many fun events are planned and the celebration concludes with the Elvis Presley Day Ceremony, which includes a birthday cake cutting and proclamation by both the Memphis and Shelby County officials.

This year our special guests include: Shane Keister, who was hired by Felton Jarvis to play on several tracks for Elvis Presley on the "Promised Land" album and then toured with Elvis in 1976; former members of J.D. Sumner & The Stamps: Bill Baize, Donnie Sumner, Larry Strickland and Ed Hill, who will share their memories of knowing Elvis both on and off the stage; and Jeannine Johnson, sister of Pierre Adidge who produced and directed the film "Elvis on Tour" with Robert Abel and received a Golden Globe for the documentary.

Plus, enjoy a very special session of Conversations on Elvis, where we celebrate the 30th anniversary of Graceland opening to the public. Hear behind-the-scenes stories of what it was like to be there for that special day and the preparations that went into that historic day.

Be sure to check out the complete 2012 Birthday Celebration schedule and get your tickets today before the events are sold out!
