"King Creole" was Elvis' fourth motion picture and considered one of his finest acting performances. On July 2, 1958, "King Creole" was released nationally and the reviews were the best he ever received through out his acting career. Its impressive list of co-stars and supporting cast included Dolores Hart, Carolyn Jones, Walter Matthau, Dean Jagger and Vic Morrow. It became a top five film at the box office and is regarded as Elvis' finest film. The movie is set in New Orleans and based upon the Harold Robbins novel, "A Stone for Danny Fisher." For the entire month of May, ENCORE will play your favorite films starring the legendary King of Rock 'n' Roll, every night at 8:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. CT.
