Photos of Elvis Touring on Sun Record Label Added to Mobile Apps

July 13, 2012

Elvis recorded his first five singles between 1954 - 1955 at Sun Studio in Memphis, TN. July of 1954 opened many doors to rock 'n' roll music after Elvis recorded "That's All Right" at Sun Studio and DJ Dewey Phillips played it for the first time on the local WHBQ radio station. On July 12, 1954, Scotty Moore became both the manager and the booking agent for the trio featuring Elvis, Scotty, and Bill Black. At only 19 years old, Elvis' parents had to sign the contract agreeing to the terms. Elvis was about to embark on his landmark career and the world had no idea how he would change pop culture and music forever. In celebration of Elvis' humble beginnings, we've added five photos of Elvis during his time at Sun Records to our Elvis Mobile 2.0 iPhone appElvis Mobile 2.0 Android app, and Elvis for iPad app.
