35th Anniversary Concert Promises to Be Best of Anniversary Shows

August 09, 2012

The Memphis Commercial Appeal is calling the Elvis 35th Anniversary Concert a "stunner" in a recent article revealing details about one of the most anticipated events of Elvis Week.

After interviewing the show's main producer Stig Edgren, the article describes this year's show as full of surprises with additional performers and special guest appearances. The show will be narrated by Priscilla Presley and includes 50 of Elvis' performances in chronological order and a special surprise for the audience delivered by Lisa Marie Presley. The show is adding new segments featuring new songs, the '68 Comeback Special, and Elvis' film career, among many others.

"We have a new opening with a big surprise that's cool," said Edgren to the Commercial Appeal. "But different from what we've done before and the fans will get a kick out of it. It's emotional, too."

The Elvis 35th Anniversary Concert will take place in downtown Memphis at the FedExForum on Thursday, August 16, at 8:00 p.m. Performers include Joe Guercio, the TCB Band - James Burton and Glen Hardin, Norbert Putnam, DJ Fontana, plus many additional guests.

"This is probably the best of the anniversary shows," said Edgren. "We're looking to knock it out again."
