Photos of Elvis in Capes Added to Mobile Apps

September 07, 2012

During his engagement at the Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas, Elvis first introduced capes to his jumpsuit attire on September 6, 1971. The king took the stage wearing his White Lion Head suit along with a matching cape. Elvis maintained his role as a fashion staple through the '50s and introduced his jumpsuit collection in the early '70s. The capes were among many additional accessories in his extravagant one-piece suits. Most had high Napoleonic collars, mod Italian-style pointed sleeve cuffs and flared legs. Elvis eventually phased out the capes, but the jumpsuits remained his preferred stage wear. The White Lion Head jumpsuit is currently on display at Graceland in the "Elvis on Tour" Exhibit. In honor of Elvis' jumpsuits, we've added five photos of Elvis with capes to the Elvis Mobile 2.0 iPhone appElvis Mobile 2.0 Android app, and Elvis for iPad app.
