New Spring Fashion Inspired by Elvis
October 23, 2012
A well-known fasionista and respected designer is turning to Elvis as inspiration for her new spring collection. In a new article titled "Calling All Cool Girls: Isabel Marant Rocks with Playful Elvis-Inspired Collection," CultureMap.com
looks at how the king's fashion is still influencing the Paris runway.
French designer Isabel Marant introduced the collection during a show at the Couventy de Cordeliers last week. The new collection combines fun patterns inspired by Elvis in Hawaii and the king's Las Vegas performances. The collection features paisley-print minis and rompers, bathing suits with a '50s twist, and Marant's signature trousers.
"The blue and white Hawaiian prints are popped with bright red embroidery, and the accessories — studded leather belts and sandals — are reminiscent of Elvis’s studded white bell bottoms in his Las Vegas days."
