News Item Names Memphis in '2012 Traveler's Choice Awards'

The world's largest travel site recently named the home of the king as a winner in the "2012 Travelers' Choice Awards." Memphis, the birthplace of the rock 'n' roll, is listed as one of TripAdvisor's "10 Destinations on the Rise." writes, "A pilgrimage to Memphis is a must for any die-hard music fan. On Beale Street, W.C. Handy was the first to write blues music on paper. Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash recorded at Sun Records. Graceland, the second most-visited home in America, gives visitors a peek into the life of the king."

The awards recognize the destinations that have seen the greatest increase in positive traveler feedback and traveler interest. The world's "Top 10 Destinations on the Rise" were named, as well as the top 10 lists for the U.S., Europe, Asia, and South America.
