. The Christmas classic is listed at #5 in the "Top 50 Country Christmas Songs."
According to Taste of Country
, "Blue Christmas" is among the most-covered Christmas songs and originates from the top-selling holiday album of all time, "Elvis' Christmas Album." Elvis received his first Diamond Award for the 1970 version of this album during Elvis Week 2012
When originally released, “Elvis’ Christmas Album” spent four weeks at #1 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart, and was the first of two Christmas-themed albums the king would record. The original version of this album was the fourth album by Elvis released in October of 1957, now certified as triple platinum.
Other Christmas favorites included in the top 50 are Gene Autry's "Rudolph, the Red Nose Reindeer" and Merle Haggard's "If We Make It Through December," among many others.
