2013 Birthday Celebration to Feature Tupelo Events

If you plan on joining us for the 2013 Birthday Celebration, be sure to check out the "Elvis’ Tupelo Presentation" here at Graceland and several events taking place at Elvis Presley's Birthplace in Tupelo, MS.

Elvis fans can enjoy a special mini-conversations on Elvis at the new "Elvis' Tupelo" Exhibit at at the Bijou Theater on Monday, January 7, at 1:00 p.m. "Elvis’ Tupelo Presentation" will feature emcee Memphis Jones, along with Tupelo Historian Roy Turner and Elvis’ childhood friends Guy Harris and Sam Bell. In addition, attendees will enjoy a special performance by the Tupelo Unity Choir and a screening of the film “Tupelove.” This event is free, but a limited number of tickets to attend will be available for pickup at Graceland Guest Services beginning on January 5. Tickets will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.

On Tuesday, January 8, fans can make the quick trip to Tupelo after the Elvis Presley Day Ceremony which will feature a birthday cake cutting and a proclamation of Elvis Presley Day by Memphis and Shelby County officials. At 1:30 p.m., Elvis Presley's Birthplace will premiere the Tupelo Unity Choir video in the Birthplace Theaterhost along with a live performance. Later that evening at 5:30 p.m., fans can attend the lighting ceremony at Elvis' Homecoming Statue in the Fairpark District.
