Photo Spotlight: Special Reception Held for 40th Anniversary of "Aloha From Hawaii"

During a special reception held at the Washington Place in Hawaii on Sunday, January 13, 2013, Hawaiian governor Neil Abercrombie joined Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. CEO Jack Soden and famous Hawaiian DJ Tom Moffat to honor the 40th anniversary of "Aloha From Hawaii." Check out this week's photo spotlight from the Islands!

“Aloha from Hawaii” was broadcast live via satellite 40 years ago today, on January 14, 1973. It is regarded as the most watched broadcast by an individual entertainer in television history. Fans have gathered from around the world to see new footage presented in the enhance screening of the legendary performances. The original show has been edited to create a new experience that will replicate being there 40 years ago. Included will be rarely-seen footage and audio that are combined with footage of Elvis on stage.

Tickets to the screening are $35 and available through Ticketmaster retailers and on line at Ticketmaster.com, in addition to the Blaisdell box office.
