Fans from around the world recently gathered in Hawaii for the 40th Anniversary Celebration of "Aloha from Hawaii." In honor of the king's groundbreaking performances in 1973, the governor of Hawaii Neil Abercrombie declared January 14, 2013, as "Elvis, Aloha from Hawai'i via Satellite Day." On January 13, 2013, Abercrombie held a special reception at Washington Place in Honolulu to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Elvis’ "Aloha from Hawaii" concert. The Governor was joined by Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. CEO Jack Soden, famous Hawaiian DJ Tom Moffat, actor Jim Nabors and many individuals who took part in making the five-day celebration there a success.
