L.A. Times Features Novel About Elvis' Friendship with Actor Nick Adams

February 01, 2013

A book detailing the friendship between Elvis and actor Nick Adams is garnering attention from book critics around the country. "The Rebel and The King" was recently featured in a story posted on LATimes.com.

In the article, Nick Adam's daughter Allyson Adams talks about how she came to find the original manuscript while digging through her father's memorabilia. She also shares her own take on the friendship he shared with Elvis and the look inside the king's personal life during his rise to fame.

"They are really young and star struck," said Allyson Adams. "They had no idea what was coming down the pike. It's a rag to riches to fame as a bad habit. Elvis had too much fame and my father didn't have enough."

The new, expanded e-book edition includes 30 classic photos, an essay by best-selling author Elaine Dundy, introduction by historian Roy Turner and the foreword and epilogue by Nick’s daughter, Allyson Adams.
