Bloomberg.com Features Elvis-Inspired Designer Humberto Leon

February 18, 2013

Elvis' direct impact on the fashion industry is still making waves today. In a new article on Bloomberg.com, Humberto Leon, co-founder of Opening Ceremony and co-creative director of the fashion line Kenzo, talks about how Elvis' Vegas days inspired his new collection.

"We did a partnership with the Elvis Presley Foundation. We wanted to interpret Las Vegas in a way that didn’t feel like your typical version of the town," said Leon. "I think that they could tell that we would do something that would really elevate Elvis’s stature."

Part of Leon's new look includes a pink sweater with the famous Elvis lyrics, "Suspicious Minds." The font on the sweatshirt is from Elvis' original album cover and was later used by the skateboard brand Thrasher in the '80s.
