Elvis Named Front-Runner in New UK Music Walk of Fame

March 07, 2013

Hollywood is coming to the United Kingdom with a new Music Walk of Fame and Elvis tops the list as one the first nominations to be voted on by the public in May. In an article on BBC.com, organizers talk about the new project and name the king as a front-runner.

"With over 60 live music venues, no other part of the world compares in terms of music diversity," stated Camden Council's Deputy Mayor Jonathan Simpson.

A committee of global industry figures and Camden community members are working on a shortlist of nominations for the first 30 plaques. Elvis is topping the list along with other American music greats Frank Sinatra, Muddy Waters, and The Doors. The list will go to a public vote on the Music Walk of Fame website in May.
