News Item Calls New "Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite: Legacy Edition" a "Must-Have"

March 13, 2013

"Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite: Legacy Edition" is getting praise from music critics as a must-have for Elvis aficionados. In a recent music review from, writer David Bowling says fans can now enjoy having all of the concert material in one place, as well as digitally enhanced sound quality.

"Classic hits such as 'Hound Dog,' 'Love Me,' 'A Big Hunk O’ Love,' 'Blue Suede Shoes' and 'Can’t Help Falling in Love' share space with some of his newer hits: 'Suspicious Minds,' 'Burning Love' and 'Steamroller Blues.' Add in such cover songs as 'My Way,' 'I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry,' 'Fever,' and 'Welcome to My World' and you have a varied, interesting, energetic, passionate, and always entertaining concert."

The latest release from Sony's Legacy Records marks the first time that both shows performed by Elvis, released separately in 1973 (the original double-LP Aloha From Hawaii via Satellite) and 1988 (the CD The Alternate Aloha), have been coupled together in to one package. At the same time, the show that "The Alternate Aloha" was based on has been completely remixed from the original multi-track tapes.

"His Hawaiian concerts were in many ways the apex of the second half of Elvis' career," writes Bowling. "When I want to listen to a live Elvis album, this is usually the one I turn to."
