April 29, 2013

During a recent American Express splash party, Opening Ceremony introduced their Elvis collection with extravagant new Elvis-themed pieces. with a DJ spinning Elvis' rockabilly classics, one Elvis fan from TheGloss.com attended the SoHo flagship night and gives a complete review featuring photos and descriptions of Opening Ceremony's Fall/Winter 2013 collection.

"While others, mostly the straight up women's wear, visually reference aspects of Elvis’ life. For example, several knits have a cool casino-like print (alluding to Elvis’ later years as a Vegas performer)," writes fashionista Ashley Cardiff.

The new collection features iconic photos of the king as well as references to his lyrics and themes in his music. Fans can purchase striped, button-down tops with tiny Elvis silhouettes, bedazzled tees inscribed with "Elvis" and "TCB" - and of course what collection would not be complete without blue suede shoes and blue suede totes.

The Fall/Winter 2013 collection features a selection of archival photographs, song titles such as “Heartbreak Hotel” and “Love Me Tender”, lettering from the singer’s record sleeves, and crystal details in the style of Elvis’ legendary “Taking Care of Business” ring. These celebrated moments of the king are realized on an array of dress shirts, tee-shirts, sweatshirts, and denim jackets.
