LOTS OF ELVIS SIGHTINGS EXPECTED SOON AT THE MARYLAND ZOO IN BALTIMORE
Zoo’s Elvis Tribute Celebration will feature King of Rock and Roll look-alikes
BALTIMORE, MD -- The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore is getting all shook up, but that’s all right, mama. It’s because Elvis is coming for a visit.
The Zoo Goes Blue Hawaii: An Elvis Tribute Celebration will be taking place on Saturday, August 26 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The King of Rock and Roll will be honored with a “Blue Hawaii” inspired luau. There’ll be Elvis Tribute Artists and look-a-likes, vintage cars, hula dancing, an Elvis dress-up booth sponsored by Café Hon, special appearances by the Zoo’s animal ambassadors, luau food, and icy alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks.
Guests who think they look or sound like Elvis will get the chance to prove it by entering one of three contests. Both the adult only Elvis Look-A-Like Contest and the adult only Best Overall Elvis Contest featuring live singing performances boast $1,000 prizes. Kids 12 and under can even take part in their own Elvis Look-A-Like Contest, with fun prizes for the winners.
Cost of The Zoo Goes Blue Hawaii is $15 for Zoo members; $20 for non-Zoo member advance tickets; $25 for non-Zoo member tickets purchased the day of the event; and $5 for kids 10 and under. The event includes free same-day only admission to The Maryland Zoo. The first 1,000 adults to enter the event will receive a free commemorative Zoo Goes Blue Hawaii t-shirt. All guests will receive a free Hawaiian lei and a free surprise gift from Café Hon. Guests who dress like Elvis and enter one of the contests will get free admission to the event.
