This show could have represented a 180 degree change in Elvis’ career history, since he and The Colonel got into it after the concert, and Elvis “fired” The Colonel. Elvis told Colonel Tom, “Stay out of my personal life, I’m my own man”. The Colonel’s reply to Elvis was “You can’t fire me, because I quit!” Several weeks later, history was not altered, as Elvis called the Colonel on the private “Las Vegas-Graceland Hotline” to let him know he wanted to go back out on the road and have things be the way they always had been.
