In celebration of Elvis' 75th Birthday, fans will gather at Graceland for the
Official Elvis Presley Day Proclamation and Ceremony. The ceremony will take place on the front lawn of Graceland on January 8 and will include special guests Priscilla Presley, Memphis Mayor AC Wharton, Memphis City and Shelby County representatives and Elvis fans from around the world. The Elvis Birthday Proclamation Ceremony will end with the cutting of Elvis’ 75th birthday cake.
We are asking fans to participate in choosing the cake that will be part of Elvis' 75th birthday ceremony. We have received Elvis-inspired 75th birthday cake designs from four master cakemakers for you to choose from. The winner of the online contest will create the cake for the January 8th Elvis Birthday Proclamation Ceremony.
You can vote for your favorite cake design once a day by using the form at the bottom of the page. The contest runs December 7 - 14, 2009.

Description of Cake:
The cake stands three feet tall and has a color scheme of blue suede in honor of Elvis’ favorite color and white glitter to celebrate “75” being the diamond birthday. The cake features several recognizable icons such as the TCB lighting bolt, the rhinestone American Eagle from his jumpsuit in Aloha from Hawaii concert, the gates of Graceland, and several silhouettes of Elvis to design an elegant 75th birthday cake fitting the king of rock ‘n’ roll.
About Cakes by Mom and Me:
Their cakes were voted "West Memphis Best Desserts" at the 2008 Taste of the Town. Pam ("Mom") has over thirty years of decorating experience. In addition to have taught beginner classes locally, she also has developed her own skills by enrolling in advanced courses offered through the Confectionary Artists of Arkansas. Lori ("Me") is a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University and the mother of two very active daughters. She has years of experience watching Mom decorate cakes, but only gained a personal interest in the art in 2001. Her cakes won "Best of Show" at the Mid-South Fair in 2001 and 2002.

Description of the Cake:
The cake features Elvis himself in his gold lame suit. He stands 36 inches tall or taller on his toes with one of his famous moves. He will be rotating on a black record player. Some piano keys at the bottom of the base, along with some custom sugar diamonds, celebrate his diamond jubilee. His famous TCB logo has also been incorporated.
About Custom Coffey Cakeries:
Erin was born and raised in Long Beach, California. She received her AA degree in Graphic Design at Al Collins Computer Graphics in Tempe, AZ. She started making cakes for her three little girls birthdays. It proved to be fun and exciting coming up with new and different ideas to please each child. Her dad was a Chef and Professor of Culinary Arts, so everything she learned...she learned from "dear ole' dad!" Her cakes are edible works of art that taste as good as they look. Her love of art shows through in each and every specially designed cake.

Description of Cake:
This cake will feature banana bread cake, chocolate truffle and peanut buttercup filling and peanut butter buttercream icing. This is a large cake of 4 layers, on top of a hand crafted cake piano base. The piano base of this cake represents Elvis musically. Added as layers on top of the piano are 3 of his most famous movies, from Blue Hawaii, to Viva Las Vegas, to Jailhouse Rock – all of which inspire many of the iconic images of Elvis we see today. The cake is topped off with Elvis’ name in lights surrounded by stars.
About Ice This Cakes and Confections:
Brooke fell in love with baking when she was a little kid. She remembers walking into her Nana's house and being overwhelmed with the smells of her favorite foods. Her Nana's chocolate pie recipe was top secret only to be shared behind closed doors to those who promised never to leak it outside the family. It is by the influence of her and many others that she decided to start on this journey of sharing her funky and fun baking creations with the world.

Description of Cake:
A multi-dimensional cake standing 7 layers and almost 4' tall that incorporates everything from Elvis’ Blue Hawaii shirt and ukulele on a base of "Blue Suede Shoes" to his Army hat. This cake pulls together a little Elvis during every era of his life. A culinary model of Elvis dancing and singing "Jailhouse Rock" is combined with iconic Elvis items such as jumpsuit belt buckles and capes to the scarves he gave away during many concerts. The cake will also be fitted with a gold lame bow and special birthday wish.
About Signature Cakes by Vicki:
Vicki won her first art award in Kindergarten for a drawing of a horse fleeing a mountaintop fire. Her drawing took a real story and brought it to life on paper. Although Vicki's degree is not in Fine Arts or Culinary Arts, after she graduated from college Vicki rediscovered her enthusiasm for wedding cakes. She combined her propensity for art mediums with her passion for gourmet baking to begin making, forming, and designing wedding cakes, groom cakes, and special event cakes.
