An eight-year-old Tennessee Walking Horse, now retired from horse shows, arrived at Graceland today to take up permanent residence. He was a gift to April Crawford from her parents Ron and Phyllis Crawford, and now April makes a gift of this beautiful animal to Graceland. The Crawfords are from Rogers, Arkansas.

No Candy Just Cash is the horse's name. Nicknamed Candy, he is a fourth generation offspring of Ebony Masterpiece, the 1962 World Grand Champion Tennessee Walking Horse. This is the same bloodline that Elvis’s Tennessee Walking horse Ebony’s Double came from. Elvis purchased Ebony’s Double in 1975 and the horse was remained at Graceland until dying at age 32 earlier this year. Click here for a related article in News Archive.

Candy has called Southern Serenity Farms in Cedar Grove, Tennessee home for the last several years and was looked after by stable owner Howard Hamilton and his family. Trainer Patrick Thomas worked with Candy as he competed for various Tennessee Walking horse titles.

Our adopting No Candy Just Cash is part of a commitment always to have horses in the Graceland pasture as it was when Elvis was here. All of Elvis's original horses have passed on. Candy joins our two other horses - Sun's Reflection, a golden palimino from the same bloodline as Elvis's favorite horse Rising Sun, and Ebony's Secret Threat, a Tennessee Walking Horse Priscilla Presley acquired in 1983 and which is from the bloodline of Ebony Masterpiece.
