Elvis and Racing ![]() When you think of Elvis, you think of cars. Elvis always had new cars in his driveway at Graceland, gave cars away as gifts, and drove cars on the "speedway" in the movies. In recent years, Elvis has been part of many successful racing programs. 1998The Miller Brewing Company car was driven by Rusty Wallace in the inaugural race of Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The NHRA Castrol dragster was driven by John Force. Both cars used a '68 Special theme and are now on display in The Elvis Presley Auto Museum across the street from Graceland. Rusty Wallace drove an Elvis/Miller/TCB theme car at Bristol Motor speedway. 2002To commemorate the 25th Anniversary celebration, Rusty Wallace drove a Miller/Elvis car at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. 2004Bill Elliott competed in the Sam's Town "He Dared to Rock" 250 at Memphis Motorsports Park Busch Series. 2007Kevin Harvick drove a Hershey's & Elvis car in the Brickyard 500 in Indianapolis, Indiana. To commemorate the 30th Anniversary celebration, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. drove a Budweiser / Elvis car featuring Elvis's image on the hood and rear quarter panels, plus "Elvis 30th" on the deck lid for the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 at Richmond International Raceway. Brandon Bernstein also piloted a commemorative 30th Anniversary paint scheme on the Bud King Racing Top Fuel Dragster at the NHRA MAC Tools U.S. Nationals. |

The Elvis Presley Automobile Museum opened in Graceland Plaza, across the street from Graceland, in June 1989. Before that, many of the cars and motorcycles still here following Elvis's death were displayed in the carport behind the mansion in the same place they were kept during his lifetime. Below are a few of the vehicles currently on display in the museum. |
