The 2009 Elvis FANtasy Fest will be held in Portage, Indiana on October 16-18. The Elvis FANtasy Fest will include special guests who worked with Elvis, live performances, a classic car show, sock hop and more. In addition, the event will also include a preliminary round of the 2010 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest, with the winner proceeding to the semifinal round of the competition that will be held in Memphis in August 2010.

This year’s event celebrates Elvis’ return to live performances in 1969 at the International Hotel in Las Vegas. Elvis Tribute Artists Irv Cass, Quentin Flagg, Travis Morris, Stephen Kabakos, Ted Torres and Robert Washington will perform with Chicago’s own “Change of Habit” Tribute Band for concerts on both Friday and Saturday night as they perform hits from Elvis’ Sun Studio Years and sell out Vegas performances.

Joining the festival as special guests will be Elvis original back up singers, Myrna Smith of the Sweet Inspirations, Joe Moscheo of the Elvis' Imperials along with Elvis' friend Patti Parry. All three of the guests will be able to meet and greet with the fans and answer questions. Joe Moscheo also will autograph copies of his book, The Gospel Side of Elvis.

The 17th annual Elvis FANtasy Fest is a fund raiser for the Porter County Special Olympics program and is the organizations main source of income. The Elvis FANtasy fest raised $23,550 for the Porter County Special Olympics in 2008.
